Examples of controls to reduce the risk to the safety of students, employees, and visitors, as well as the risk of legal liability:

• The unit properly handles hazardous materials and consults with UCF Environmental Health and Safety.

• For laboratories, appropriate safety equipment is on hand, along with on-going training in safety procedures.

• Residents in student housing are trained in safety procedures.

• For rentals of university facilities to outside groups, a liability waiver or proof of insurance is obtained.

• Contracts are reviewed by General Counsel for liability issues.
